It's not something to be ashamed of - I am a huge Steve Martin AND Eddie Murphy fan! (Probably equally). I miss those days of SNL! I mean, the Chris Farley/Adam Sandler days were pretty darn good too, but nowadays it just isn't as good. Ok, I also love Will Ferrell, but the point is - now, not as good!

I was in high school when Bowfinger came out, working at the movie theater. So, obviously I saw it in the theaters - more than once probably. Back then you could go to movies whenever you wanted if you worked at the theater. You could just call and say - "I am bringing 10 people to see Bowfinger. Is that cool?". It eventually got to the point where you earned one ticket for every 10 hours worked or something like that.... benefits basically gone. So, I became a bartender!
Back to the movie - There are some simple jokes that didn't land with me, like the Smashing Pumpkins joke when Steve Martin is "courting" Heather Graham. But, the majority is my style of humor.
Eddie Murphy plays multiple roles!?!?
Nothing new, Eddie Murphy plays multiple roles and does them all well. I might even be bold enough to say that Eddie Murphy's Jiff character might be my favorite role of Eddie Murphy of all time. Fine. I'll do it! Jiff is Eddie Murphy's best role of ALL TIME! (I am bold and polarizing.)
My favorite moment of the movie is definitely the Jiff audition scene! It is an awesome display of this character and has plenty of jokes and awkwardness mixed in.
"Uh, well, yeah, quite a bit, actually, I have quite a bit of experience. I'm an active, uh, renter at Blockbuster, and I, um, attend the filmed cinema, uh, as much as possible, weekly, bi-weekly, inter-week-... intermediately."
Check out this video where I briefly discuss the movie. And be sure to head to my shop where you can find this drawing available as an art print, mug or shirt.
Thanks! You're nice. 🤘🏻
