When people talk about Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), the real debate isn’t whether it’s an awesome movie — it’s which scene is their favorite. Robin Williams gave us so many hilarious moments, it’s impossible to pick just one too!
So instead of crowning a single champion, I'm giving my three favorite scenes...
1. First Meeting Mrs. Doubtfire at the Front Door
This is the birth of Euphegenia Doubtfire. The door opens, and suddenly, Daniel is transformed: wig, glasses, Scottish accent, and all. The family buys it, and so do we.
Why it’s the best: Without this scene, none of the Mrs. Doubtfire magic works. It’s the origin story of a comedy icon.
Why it’s wall-worthy: Instantly recognizable, hilarious, and the perfect wink to any visitor who loves this movie.
2. The Run-By-Fruiting
At the poolside restaurant, poor Stu is the unsuspecting target of Mrs. Doubtfire’s lime-tossing justice. The delivery is perfect: “It was a run-by-fruiting!” Two other things always have me dying during this moment - the sound of the lime hitting his head, just the perfect little, juicy squish AND Robin Williams just drunk giggling when Stu turns around.
Why it’s the best: It’s quick, chaotic, and endlessly quotable—Robin Williams’ comedy at its finest.
Why it’s wall-worthy: Freeze that lime midair, and you’ve got an art piece that’s equal parts slapstick and nostalgia.
3. The Hot Dog Impressions
In one of the film’s most underrated moments, Daniel entertains an executive with a string of improvised impressions — It's Williams in full improv mode, punctuated with an impression of a hot dog! Hahaha
Why it’s the best: It’s Robin Williams unfiltered, showing off the genius that made him one of the greatest comedians of all time.
Why it’s wall-worthy: More than a laugh, it’s a tribute to Williams himself.
Bring the Comedy Home
At briandrawsmovies.com, I’ve turned these moments into gallery-quality prints designed for movie lovers who want more than just decoration—they want their walls to spark conversation (and a few belly laughs).
Because when it comes to Mrs. Doubtfire, the best scene isn’t just one. It’s all of them.
THANKS!
